Murderclown

This is Murderclown

He is the product of unexpected inspiration. Tonight, for the first time, I will meet the gentlemen responsible for sticking this image in my head and I will give them their just reward.

Relax, it's a signed print for each of them. Geez.

The text below (go on, click it!) was from a book about silver mining in Nevada and California in the mid-1800's. When I created the background for this piece I hadn't given any thought to its final form. During the process of creating "Murderclown," I found the text and used a bleaching technique to bring it forward from the layers of paint that had obscured it.

"... goddess of Discord flew over the sleeping ...
Lo! my brothers, sad is the hour when she glides...
...the wasteland has eaten our beloved friends...
The turf has sucked their blood.
They have been chewed and swallowed in that expanse of grass..."
